Thomas Moran, MD
Thomas Moran, MD, is Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital. Prior he served as VP and CMO of Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital from 2021 – 2023, and as VP and Chief Medical Information Executive (CMIE) for Northwestern Memorial Health Care from 2016 – 2021. In 1995 he joined the Medical Staff at Central DuPage Hospital as an attending emergency physician. He was named chair of the CDH Department of Emergency Medicine in 2009 and served in that capacity until he accepted the position of Chief Medical Information Officer at Cadence Health in 2012 and served in that role until Cadence Health merged with Northwestern to form Northwestern Medicine. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Clinical Informatics.
Dr. Moran continues to work across the organization leveraging technology to improve patient safety and quality of care. He is involved in the planning, adoption, and optimization of the electronic health record and the ancillary systems that support patient care delivery across the Northwestern Medicine academic health system. Dr. Moran earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Illinois Benedictine College, Lisle Il, his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago, and completed his residency at the University of Illinois Hospital, Chicago.
Dr. Moran lives in Glen Ellyn with his wife Sandy, they have 4 daughters and 2 grandchildren.
