Paul T. Browne
Paul Browne retired from full-time, health system, executive leadership in May 2024. He is now seeking opportunities to use his extensive experience in a governance or advisory capacity to advance the healthcare industry.
During his career Mr. Browne served as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for 30 years at some of the nation’s leading health systems including:
- Henry Ford Health – 2018 to 2024
- Tenet Healthcare, Inc – 2012 to 2018
- Trinity Health – 1999 to 2012
- SelectCare – 1994 – 1999
Having served these health systems Mr. Browne has direct experience in many sub-sectors of the healthcare ecosystem including:
- Provider organizations, payer organizations, and integrated health systems
- Value-based care focused and fee-for-service focused systems
- National and regional health systems
- Rural, urban, and suburban geographies – across 40 states
- Community hospitals and academic medical centers
- Not-for-profit and investor-owned systems
- Safety net systems
- Faith-based and secular systems
- Independent medical staffs and large, multi-specialty employed groups
In addition to his technology leadership role as CIO, Mr. Browne has had direct responsibility for:
- enterprise analytics
- consumer facing digital solutions
- bio-medical engineering
- cybersecurity
- merger and acquisition operational integration (Chief Integration Officer)
- strategic programs execution (SVP Strategic Programs)
Mr. Browne has also served in governance and advisory roles for health system solution providers and healthcare focused private equity firms.
During more than three decades in information technology, Mr. Browne has been named to ComputerWorld’s list of “Top 100 CIOs.” He has also been named a “Top 50 Innovator” across all industries and “Top 5 Innovator” in health care by InformationWeek. Additionally, Browne has authored numerous articles and lectured extensively at national symposiums focusing on IT strategy and innovation.
Mr. Browne has degrees in healthcare economics and public health from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor.
