
John Chang, MD
John Chang is the Senior Vice President, Head Clinical Team, at Zynx Health. In this role, he oversees the methodology, development, and maintenance of evidence-based and experience-based clinical content used in Zynx solutions that support healthcare organizations’ achievement of their quality and financial goals.
Dr. Chang brings to Zynx Health over 20 years of clinical, operations, and healthcare research experience and is also a general internist, is board-certified in clinical informatics, and serves as an assistant clinical professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He has given numerous presentations at national meetings and has published multiple articles on improving care and quality measurement in peer-reviewed journals including: Annals of Internal Medicine, The BMJ, Medical Care, Journal of General Internal Medicine, and Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Chang served as senior director, director, and manager of clinical content over his more than 10 years at Zynx Health, and was instrumental in the development and launch of Knowledge AnalyzerTM. Before joining Zynx Health, Dr. Chang was a primary care physician and clinician investigator with the Division of General Internal Medicine and Health Services Research at UCLA, a practicing physician at Kaiser Permanente, an affiliated investigator at RAND Health, and a consultant to the National Committee for Quality Assurance. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Georgetown University Medical Center and completed two fellowships–the UCLA NRSA Primary Care Research Fellowship and the UCLA Specialty Training and Advanced Research Fellowship. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the American Medical Informatics Association, the Society of General Internal Medicine, AcademyHealth, and the American Association for Physician Leadership.
Dr. Chang holds BA and MD degrees from Northwestern University, an MPH from Yale University, and a PhD in health policy and management (with a focus on healthcare outcomes research and operations management) from the University of California, Los Angeles.
