Emily C. Webber, MD, FAAP, FAMIA

Emily C. Webber, MD, FAAP, FAMIA is Chief Medical Information Officer for Indiana University Health and Riley Children’s Health. She is also a practicing physician, board certified in pediatrics, pediatric hospital medicine and clinical informatics.  As CMIO, Dr. Webber leads informatics and IS efforts to achieve the strategic and operational goals of the IU Health and Riley Children’s Health organization.

Dr. Webber graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2004 and completed pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the University of Southern California in 2007.  Following her time as chief resident at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, she began her career in pediatric hospital medicine at Riley Hospital in 2008.  An associate professor of clinical pediatrics, she continues to work clinically as a pediatric hospitalist at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.

Having worked on many IT implementations, Dr. Webber is focused on working on a high reliability culture in applied informatics, promotion of safe and equitable data exchange and patient digital experiences that improve clinical outcomes – specifically in telemedicine and digital health equity. She is also a Regenstrief affiliate scientist and is the immediate past Chairperson of the American Academy of Pediatrics Executive Council on Clinical Information Technology (COCIT).  She serves as a member of the Cerner Pediatric Leadership Council and a member of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA).

Dr. Webber lives with her husband and kids in Indianapolis.  She enjoys cooking, coffee, travel, analog books and yoga.  She is trying to find balance in social media, but she can be found on Twitter as @pedshospdoc.
