Anna Schoenbaum
Associate Vice President of Information Services Applications at Penn Medicine
Anna Schoenbaum joined Penn Medicine in 2020 as the associate vice president of operations. Anna has 30+ years of healthcare and 18 years of information technology experience. Anna started her career as a pediatric intensive care nurse, and quickly moved into management. Throughout her career, Anna held roles leading digital transformation initiatives and providing system support for complex health systems (clinical applications, health information exchange, population health, patient experience, operations engineering, performance improvement).
Anna earned a Doctorate in Nurse Practice and Master of Science in Informatics at the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She holds a B.S. in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia. Anna is board certified in informatics and is a fellow member of Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS). She is also an active member of HIMSS, HIMSS Nursing Informatics Committee, HIMSS Social Determinants of Health Taskforce, and Maryland HIMSS Board of Directors. She is also on faculty at the University of Maryland School of Nursing and sits on the Nursing Informatics Advisory Board. She is also a visiting professor at Chamberlain University.
