Amanda DeMano

Amanda DeMano serves as UChicago Medicine’s Executive Director for IT Strategic Programs.  In this role, she works to plan and apply IT strategy to meet the needs of the organization in domains such as digital health transformation, mergers and acquisitions and facilities planning, design and construction.  Prior to her current position, Amanda worked for almost 15 years in implementation and support of EHR and Revenue Cycle applications in academic medicine, community based provider and payor settings.  She was also a Manager with Deloitte Consulting from 2004 to 2007, just prior to joining UChicago Medicine’s leadership team.

With over 20 years’ experience in healthcare IT, Amanda is uniquely positioned to orchestrate IT to transform business operations and be a true partner to achieve shared outcomes.  She feels passionate in her mission to implement IT, not for the sake of IT alone, but with steadfast alignment to propel business strategy.  “Engaging IT professionally within your organization as a strategic business partner can only accelerate your success.  Inevitably, all organizational change will have an impact to IT.  Partnering proactively to develop your vision and roadmap together can help extend the possibilities and accelerate success.”

Amanda holds a BS in Health Information Management from St. Louis University and has completed some post-graduate work in the area of Management Information Systems at University of Missouri, St. Louis.  She now lives in the north suburbs of Chicago with her husband, Rob, and three young and active children, Madison, Kaden (twins) and Carli.
