SI Executive in Residence Christy Harris Lemak, PhD FACHE and co-authors Dae Hyun Kim, Douglas Jones, and Dalton Pena recently published their research “Evolving role of the health system CIO: perspectives from 33 health systems” in BMJ Leader.  Their research reveals three main roles for health system CIOs including:

1. Enabler of strategic change and transformation,
2. Strategic developer of technology and leadership talent and
3. Driver of organizational culture.
