05 Jul Scripps Study on In-person vs Telemedicine Visits
Thus far in 2023, Scripps has conducted 17 percent of eligible visits via telemedicine and studied improvements between using traditional mixed scheduling for its internal/family medicine practitioners and a telehealth block schedule. Productivity increased 37 percent with the latter, alongside a 17 percent increase in provider capacity, fewer no-shows and equally high patient satisfaction rates. Additionally, Scripps is enabling digital in an ambient fashion: Their “exam room of the future” is equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) listening solutions to document care during in-office and telehealth visits, which increases physician attention on patients by removing reliance on the computer and decreases documentation time by 18 percent and -volume by 30 percent.
