SUMMARY:WEBINAR | The Rise of Interim Executives and Professionals in the Healthcare Workplace
DESCRIPTION:Monte Weirman\, CPA\, Managing Partner of Healthcare; and Deb Gordon\, Senior Managing Director of Healthcare\, Korn Ferry. As the workforce shifts before our eyes\, healthcare professionals are embracing a global trend: the rise of the interim worker. Akin to the gig economy\, interim work is a viable career path in today’s medical fields. Healthcare employers are engaging interim experts in nearly every function imaginable. Interim solutions are a rapidly-growing\, strategic approach to solve critical issues and fill talent gaps. More than ever before\, short-term engagements fulfilled by outside experts and leaders are making a remarkable difference on care\, operations and revenue. This intro-to-interim session covers: \n\nwho is hiring interim support and the value they report\,\nwho is making career choices to work on interim assignments and why\,\nsuccess stories about on-demand professionals from managers through the C-suite; from IT to operations.\n\nWhy now? The healthcare industry is rapidly evolving in the not-for-profit\, for-profit\, proprietary sectors as well as Government-funded programs.  Health organizations across the U.S. have focused on developing their health ecosystems.  Emerging competition and tech innovations are crucial to strategic success; as well as finding more convenient approaches to provide consumers with improved health outcomes and coordinated services.  Additionally\, advancements and innovations have reduced overall costs\, as well as expand access through digital portals\, virtual health tools\, value-driven care innovations\, and improving customer satisfaction within health systems. \nInterim leadership responds and adapts to market threats and opportunities to achieve alignment\, prioritize challenges from multiple categories (finance\, quality\, workforce)\, set priorities\, and drive rapid decision-making.  In order to achieve a progressive health ecosystem\, it is critical to have access to expertise and resources to support operations and accelerate transformation and innovation initiatives to advance new partnerships\, new value creation\, and service personalization.  High-quality interim professionals add an extra dimension to clients’ total talent strategy\, enriching the workforce alongside permanent employees\, contingent contractors and outsourced functions. \nA strategic move: hiring the interim professional \nIncorporating interim professionals into talent management strategies

SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Virtual Care Maturity Model for Health Systems
DESCRIPTION:Doug Mirsky\, PhD\, VP of Healthcare Delivery\, Digital Medicine Society (DiMe). Through the pandemic\, health systems raced to respond to a world where patients could no longer see their providers in person with ease or regularity. This prompted a fast and dramatic shift to incorporate technology\, predominantly telehealth\, that allowed for a continuation of care using virtual delivery models. Today\, we are seeing health systems move from reactive to proactive. While the shift to incorporate telehealth has settled\, many health systems are now looking to leverage a broader suite of omnichannel approaches to reach more patients in more ways and to enhance the patient care experience rather than simply replicate it. Effective virtual care strategies encompass not just using audio and visual platforms\, but rather incorporating additional care components such as remote patient monitoring\, asynchronous messaging\, caregiver support\, care coordination\, remote lab testing\, and more. \nThe Digital Medicine Society’s V1C IMPACT effort\, as part of their 501c(3)\, is a pre-competitive consortium dedicated to supporting virtual first care (V1C) companies and their commitment to patient-centric care. DiMe is not technology determinists and instead\, define V1C as medical care for individuals or a community accessed through digital interactions where possible\, guided by a clinician\, and integrated into a person’s everyday life. Through resources such as their Care Transitions Toolkit\, Contracting Toolkit\, V1C Core Competencies\, and their Payment and Coding toolkit DiMe is making progress in establishing the fit-for-purpose market for seamless patient care that includes virtual and traditional models. \nDiMe now intends to develop a virtual care maturity model for health systems to benchmark and understand their current virtual care strategies; clarify the benefits of and requirements for maturing their strategies; and be better prepared to approach the market of virtual care providers for new offerings and payers for coverage of those offerings\, when it makes sense to do so.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Health System Pharmacy in Block Chain
DESCRIPTION:Thomas Matanich\, MBA\, PMP\, Director of Contract Management; and Nilesh Desai\, MBA\, BS\, RPh\, CPPS\, Chief Pharmacy Officer\, Baptist Health System. Ensuring the appropriate application of contracts at the pharmacy wholesaler can be extremely challenging for health systems\, wholesalers\, manufacturers\, and group purchasing organizations (GPO) alike.  To complicate matters\, prices can vary based off class of trade or 340B eligibility.   Baptist Health is the first health system to join others in the pharmaceutical supply chain on the Mediledger blockchain network.  This platform will allow for mutually trusted data to be transparently shared on a distributed network\, moving away from the antiquated standard of EDI and email communications and towards a more collaborative\, automated\, and efficient process.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Moving the Mark in Suicide Prevention by Asking the Question How One Health System is Working to Make a Difference
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nThomas Otten\, Assistant Vice President\, Avera Behavioral Health Center; Kevin Post\, DO\, Chief Medical Officer; Lindsey Meyers\, Vice President of Public Relations\, Communications and Digital; Nikki Foster\, Marketing Strategy Partner\, Avera Health; moderated by Kenneth J. Fawcett Jr.\, MD\, Former VP\, Healthier Communities\, Spectrum Health. Avera saw a record number of completed suicides across our region\, including the loss of their Board Chair and the daughter of one of our senior executives. Avera realized this issue could not be solved by our clinical teams alone—we needed the help of our communities and partners. It’s been proven that directly asking the question\, “Are you thinking about suicide?” in a compassionate can save lives. So\, Avera launched the Ask the Question campaign which engaged our clinical audiences\, schools\, community partners and individuals in suicide prevention. Preliminary results show a decline in suicide rates. Please join us to learn more about how Avera helped many to “Ask the Question” through clinical collaboration\, marketing and public relations. \nRelated: A Letter to My Abuser’: A nurse’s tragic experience resonates across the country
