SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Optimizing Documentation in the EHR with Ambient AI
DESCRIPTION:Craig Richardville\, MBA\, Chief Innovation and Digital Officer; Michael Radtke\, MD\, MHI\, ACMIO\, SCL Health; Tyler Haberle\, MD\, FACP\, ACHIO for Community-Based Care\, Intermountain Healthcare; and Jared Pelo\, MD\, Chief Medical Information Officer\, Nuance Communications.  SCL is deploying a dual approach to technology in 2022. While Craig and Dr. Radtke are investing in new engagement assets to scale digital health across the system\, they are also taking full advantage of the technologies already invested in\, particularly leveraging the EHR as a platform for innovation. To that end\, SCL is deploying ambient clinical intelligence in the exam and operating rooms for cardiology\, orthopedic and primary care. The group shares use cases for how ambient documentation works across specialties and care settings\, the AI behind the scenes to guide providers with clinical data in the EHR workflow\, and the outcomes in relieving providers from the administrative burden of documenting while improving the patient experience.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Health Equity Initiatives: Meeting Patients Where They Are and Humbling Yourself
DESCRIPTION:Jonathan James PhD\, Epidemiologist and Chief Strategy Officer\, Axis Medical Center\, presented with Wolters Kluwer\, Health.  Dr. James believes clinical teams serve patients\, rather than just treat them. More than 50% of Axis Medical Center’s patients live below the poverty line\, and more than 80% are best served by language other than English. Their stories have taught Dr. James that the first steps toward achieving health equity in his Minnesota community are letting go of preconceived notions and listening to patients.  As CFO of Axis Medical Center\, Dr. James and his team have put key measures in place to ensure their patients receive high quality care. Learn how they have leveraged multilingual care tools\, international staff\, point-of-care decision support\, and cultural connectivity to build trust with patients facing barriers to care and expand their access to vital services.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Delivering Integrated Behavioral Health Using Virtual Care
DESCRIPTION:Amanda May\, LMSW\, Manager\, Behavioral Health Integration\, and Marie Lee\, MEd\, PMP\, Manager – Access Care Technology\, Henry Ford Health. At present\, more than 40% of adults in the United States will experience mental illness and only about 3 in 10 will seek treatment. Patients are faced with shortages of behavioral health professionals and long wait times. Other patients do not seek treatment due to the stigma attached to seeking care for mental health. Addressing patient mental health in a comprehensive\, integrated manner in primary care\, using evidence-based treatment has proven successful for patients seeking care for mild to moderate behavioral health symptoms. Amanda and Marie discuss program set up and success using virtual care which has allowed a small number of therapists and psychiatrists to serve a large geographic area across over 30 primary care offices.

SUMMARY:WEBINAR | Clinician Satisfaction with CDS: A Realizable Goal?
DESCRIPTION:Donald Levick\, MD\, MBA\, CPE\, FHIMSS\, Pediatrician & former CMIO\, Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN). Helping clinicians make safe and effective medication choices for their patients is the primary purpose of medication decision support systems. Unfortunately\, “alert fatigue” – an all-too-common experience today – diminishes the effectiveness of such systems and can be fueled by over-alerting\, under-alerting\, insufficient information\, and warnings presented at the wrong time. Dr. Levick shares his experience as a CMIO\, focused not only on patient safety and quality improvement\, but also clinician satisfaction with the EHR. His ongoing interest in effective CDS drove the implementation of targeted medication warning CDS\, including pharmacogenomics\, and increased medication-related alert acceptance to greater than 60%.
