Vi Shaffer, Research Director – Healthcare, Gartner, Inc., Washington, D.C. and William F. Bria, MD, Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and Medical Director of Clinical Information Systems at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and President, AMDIS, present and discuss the results of a recent research study conducted for the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems (AMDIS) on the role and impact of the CMIO. Based on the study results, successful models will be described and case examples highlighted.
