As a leading not-for-profit healthcare system with 16 hospitals surrounding the Tampa Bay area, BayCare aims to be the best place to receive and provide care. Regarding the latter, BayCare has invested deeply in its EHR (Cerner) to best support its caregivers and clinicians. Understanding how it’s being used helps them strengthen the system, increase adoption and address critical safety and quality issues. Toward that end, BayCare developed a type of “Annual Report” for its EHR: highlighting what works well, what needed to go away, and what might streamline work in the future…and their findings were surprising.
