
Christian Lagier
Christian Lagier is VP of Digital Innovation at Baystate Health. He is also is co-founder and Executive Director of TechSpring, the Baystate Health Technology Innovation Center. The core goal of TechSpring is to accelerate innovation in healthcare technology by facilitating projects that prove the clinical and business value of new solutions in a real, live healthcare environment.
TechSpring provides standardized process, program management and access to a network of US health systems as ‘living labs’ for healthcare innovation. The starting point for all work are strategic interests and ‘Passionate Problems’ of these health systems with a clear goal of providing measurable, visible operational, clinical and patient benefits. The network is centered at Baystate Health in Springfield, MA, and now also include LifeBridge Health in Baltimore, MD.
Baystate Health is a $2.BB model health system in Western Massachusetts presenting all the advantages of a top-tier integrated delivery health network in an environment that closely mirrors the broader US healthcare market. The network includes 3 hospitals and a flagship academic medical center (1000 beds), 90 medical practices, the region’s largest health insurance company, a regional Health Information Exchange and reference lab.
Christian Lagier has a background in entrepreneurship, business operations, and strategic business development having worked for start-ups and high growth companies in San Francisco, Paris and Copenhagen, including 10 formative years in Silicon Valley’s entrepreneurial start-up and high-growth environment. After starting out in Management Consulting, Christian held management positions in companies such as Memolane, Vivino, and Proxicom. Christian is a Danish and French national and holds a MSc in Economics and Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School and Université Catholique de Louvain in Brussels.
